January Birthstone: Garnet

It’s January and that means it is time to recognize January’s birthstone, the Garnet. Garnet is most recognizable when it is a beautiful deep red color but the stone comes in other colors as well that include: green, brown, pink, and even purple. The stone has a mystical past as well. It is said that travelers would wear the stone in order to protect them from accidents while on their travels. Another legend says that the garnet protects you from having nightmares so people used to wear these stones to go to sleep. I know I would love to sleep with some of these beautiful stones on every night! Garnet is a very affordable stone and is used in many different types of jewelry!
